Warm and Friendly

We had been advised to try the Letymbou Tavern on previous visits to Paphos but never quite made it. The late lunch visit found the restaurant very quiet our service from Anita was warm and friendly. My main of Kleftico was devine tender and succulent The rest of the family chose chicken sandwich in pitta grilled chicken and homemade burgers all with home cooked chips and fresh vegetables, clean plates from us and looking forward to our next visit hopefully on a Friday night!

Excellent Taverna

We've visited this Taverna twice in the last two weeks - the first time because friends who are Paphos restaurant owners had recommended it to us & we wanted to check it out for family visiting a few days later & the second time to take our son, his wife & two young children. Both visits were 'early' - about 6pm - and the owner couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive.

This is a 'typical' Cypriot taverna but very much an above average one. It is currently the Number 1 Paphos restaurant on TripAdvisor which is way over-stretching it but we'd certainly recommend it. The first night we just had grilled halloumi followed by the Moussaka and the very large pork chop. Both of them were well above average and were followed by a complementary coconut topped creamy cake - cool and delicious.

On the second visit we had the full meze for 3 adults and the children whilst one adult had the chicken kebab (& pinched bits of the meze)! Again it was an excellent meal, once again a well above average meze with some delightful courses including all the usual dips, olives etc but the shieftalia, hot Lountza & halloumi, chicken slices in a Worcester sauce and a delicious Strapatsada (scrambled egg, cheese and tomatoes) were excellent. The final 'course' was Afelia (pork stew) which we were too full to eat but which was immediately boxed up for us to take home! This was all washed down with two lovely bottles of Tsangerides red (produced just down the road). Again we were served the deliciously cool cake so I assume they don't really have a dessert menu - we were too full to ask anyway!

Parking is easy at the back of the restaurant & the toilets are beautifully clean. They have traditional Cypriot dancing and music on a Friday night so booking is advised. Whilst 'casual' tourists may find it difficult to find it is pretty straightforward - take the Polis road and turn right to Tsada (just above Tremithousa) and go straight on to Letymbou and the taverna is on your right.

All in all a very relaxed & pleasant place to eat and we shall undoubtedly return.

Raising the bar

We have visited this taverna on many occasions with family & friends and have been consistently impressed with the welcome, level of service and varied food items on offer. The owners cannot do enough for their customers and the extension of the regular menu by introduction of a "specials menu" has raised the level of food choice and quality considerably. Highly recommended for dinner or lunch
