Much better than ocean basket

Had a wonderful lunch hear today, nice setting by the sea, very clean, and good service .Started with village salad, beetroot ,tzatziki.I ordered fishermans plater my husband ordered sword fish.Fishermans platter is very good value for money large plate with Prawns, baby crabs, calamari, octopus and a medium size fish (don't know what kind of fish it was but delicious ).The fishermans platter costs 17 euros I have had one not much bigger than this in Ocean basket and the price was about 65 euros.Sword fish was very well cooked and tasty both mains came with homemade chips and salad garnish. It's a good thing we went hungry as we struggled to eat it all, next time we go I think we will order the fishermans platter to share.Total price for everything including a large carafe of wine and water was 48euros.The only downside to the day was before we went to the restaurant we had a walk on latsi harbour every cafe owner tried to get us in for drinks,I know times are hard but us Brits hate being hassled like this,I don't think they are helping themselves by charging 3.50 euros for a beer and the same for a glass of rubbish wine.I noticed cocktails were 5 euros each we won't be going their in a hurry again.

OK spot for lunch

Lunch.

On the seafront just before you get to the “main drag” of the village. Nice spot. Cool breeze. Inevitable cats.

Village salad was good with particularly tasty tomatoes. Good bread, topped with sesame and hint of “something else”.

Herself had a whole sea bass, butterflied and perfectly cooked. Came with very average and quite greasy chips.

I`d never had cuttlefish before, so I`m not able to judge how good or bad this was. It had a texture similar to squid - chewier and with much less flavour. I wouldn`t be in a rush to order it again. Also came with the chips.

Evening Meal end May 2010

We decided finally to go into Psaropoulos for dinner after passing by them for years saying "we must go there for dinner one day". Well, came the day and we took an ocean view table. Costas and his staff were very attentive and helpful, advising on the availability and choice of fish. Eventually we shared mixed Greek salad, had individually grilled sea bass with fries, 2 small carafs of wine, soft drinks and beers for €45.

Stunning views

Lovely meal stunning views a little costly but well worth visiting, but fish is expensive here. Meat is also available but then why go to a fish restaurant. Will go again. the staff were very helpful.

Amazing place for a wedding reception!

Dave & I were married on Oct 5th o6 at the Ilia Latchi Hotel and chose Psaropoulos to have our wedding meal and celebrations. (We had checked out quite a few in the area!). They bent over backwards to accommodate our wedding party, nothing was too much trouble and they made our day truly special.

When we arrived at the tavern, they had laid the table beautifully as requested, and then the food and champagne did not stop coming. The FOOD WAS AMAZING. We are huge sea food freaks, and we have never tasted such incredible seafood. Towards the end we begging them to stop bringing it out as it was just too tantalizing and we were all too stuffed! We will never ever forget this wonderful tavern. Thanks Costas, see you next year!
