Miltiades

Stumbled upon this Café whilst shopping at the top end of Gladstonos street, set back on a short pedestrianised side road, Christina Court. Opposite is a small garden area with large trees that provide welcome shade.

The café is actually part of the bakery that is at the rear, and most of the produce is made on the premises.

The owner and his wife are very friendly and make you welcome.

There are a selection of fresh small baguette type sandwiches, and UK style meat pies & pasties, all of which were tempting. There is also a large selection of shortbread biscuits and sweets. Tea, coffee & soft drinks are also on offer.

We had a ham & cheese and a salad sandwich which were fresh & tasty, we were then tempted by the apple pie which was one of the best I have tasted.

There are a number of tables & chairs arranged on the forecourt next to the gardens, which provides a vantage point to people watch.

The bill with two coffees and some more apple pie and shortbread to take home came to €14 which we thought very reasonable.

Certainly worth a visit if you just want a snack.
