Lovely pies

Four of us went here for lunch yesterday. The food was basic but well cooked and plenty of it. I had chicken & leek pie which was delicious, plenty of filling and flaky well made pastry. The steak pie the was also as good. The other guest had ploughman's which was a real plate full of food and thoroughly enjoyed. I will recommend the crumble, one of the tastiest I have had! It is by no means gourmet, just good honest food at a reasonable price.

What can I say but Yuuummmmmmyyyyy

Weve had several amazing breakfasts here before so decided to try lunch today, there were a few other customers in when we arrived but we were welcomed immediately by 'mine host'and she took our order for drinks,I had cottage pie which was great- big portion too for €6.95 and my friend had liver and onions with REAL HOMECOOKED CHIPS wow you dont get this often enough in Paphos. We decided to treat ourselves and had delicious homemade keylime pie and lemon meringue - as always so friendly and excellent food. Our bill was €23.90 and we had wine too- full up now- Im sorry to read that they have suffered a couple of unfavourable reviews but each to their own I suppose all Id say was try it for yourselves !

super again

My husband and I booked in for Valentines night, a set menu 3 courses with a 1l caraf for €40 per couple. The choice was Lamb shank, Steak or battered prawns I had the Lamb and Colin had the steak, we had enjoyed starters of salmon & prawn and a Pate homemade no less and for afters we choose a cherry pie and custard and a lemon meringue- The meal was delightful , colin said his steak was close to perfection my lamb was so soft it fell off the bone- the service as always was spot on , friendly, relaxed and not rushed like many places, I personally enjoy a break between courses so did not mind at all waiting for my main course (maybe 30 min) We had a great night and will be back soon. If I did have any critism at all it would be the house wine wasnt great but hey it was free so who am I to complain- well done guys keep up the good work

An occasion ruined

Having previously breakfasted there I had high hopes of a pleasant evening and was looking forward to sampling one of their famous pies but sadly I was disappointed. Although we'd booked and there was room inside, we were seated outside in an area closed from the cold only by a plastic awning and side sheets with inadequate heating that meant us keeping our top coats and scarves on throughout the evening. We'd not been told about the set menu when booking so were a bit surprised to discover a somewhat limited choice. The house white we ordered was tasteless and we enquired as to it's origin only to avoid asking for it in the future; it is to be avoided at all costs. I ordered garlic mushrooms as a starter and when it came it tasted good although I'd expected more than one; and no matter how thinly a mushroom is sliced it still looked lonely in it's dish. When the main course arrived more than three quarters of an hour later, we were disappointed to say the very least. The Ribeye steaks were thin and greasy, the chips were so thin they looked they been cut on a bacon slicer and the whole ensemble was swimming in oil or fat. Our comment brought the usual 'no one else has complained' routine and we were offered 'our meal' at a discounted price of twenty euros which we should've argued over but by this time we just wanted out. A couple seated at an adjoining table had been witness to our situation and told us their meal was also bad; they declined to complain but that's their choice. Our evening had been spoiled and that is the reason for writing this review. Far too many establishments get away with substandard service and food and they take no responsibility for ruining what should be a special occasion. Would I go back? You have to be joking !!

Not recommended!!

Booked in a party of four on Valentines day evening. Shown to a table in an area that is outside the restaurant but has been formed into an enclosure by the installation of an awning. This area was heated by a gas heater that unfortunately didn't provide enough heat to enable us to remove the top coats and scarves we had arrived in on this cold night.
Once our orders had been placed there was a long wait for our starters, which were the best part of the meal. The mains didn't arrive for fifty minutes after our starter dishes had been cleared. Rib eye steaks had been chosen by three of us. These came with additional vegetables and chips. The steaks were tough, the chips were cold, limp and soaked in fat. The steak dishes were declared inedible by all three of us.
Our complaints were pointed out to our hosts who halved the final bill. Having lived in Cyprus for ten years now I can truthfully say this was the worst meal I have been served and will not be revisiting this establishment or recommending it to my friends.
