Great Sunday Lunch

Sunday lunch - English style roasty with all the trimmings. Included a starter and suite within the price.
Enjoyed a lazy Sunday roast with friends. The beef was just how we like it and it made for a very convivial afternoon. Lots of flies around when we went - but hardly the restaurants fault !!

Fabulous meal, lovely setting, great staff

Went there yesterday with a friend, what a place, away from everywhere, so very quiet, lots of lovely birds, chirping away in the trees.
We booked the Suckling Pig (need to book by Tuesday to have it on Thursday.
It came with a choice of soup, I had caulifloer and stilton, well done soup, not too much stilton, so the flavour came through but didn't smack you in the face.
The suckling ping came with assorted veg, which was ok, nothing special, some of it wasn't cooked to our liking, but as I say, it was ok. However the suckling pig was the star of the show - beautiful meat and TONS of crackling - helped by the fact one of our party doesn't do crackling, so I get double - yes!!
All in all a lovely time, super staff who were all friendly, but not overbearing, just the right balance.

just ok

Again quite difficult to write this as again it wasnt bad but it wasnt good either. We only went as we fancied something other than Cypriot food we didnt know about Olivios at this point. The tomato soup was home made ad very nice. The scampi was frozen and just like any Birds Eye Findus packet And the sweet and sour according to my friend was Uncle Bens

an ok meal

It is quite difficult to write a review of this place as nothing is really bad but neither is anything really good. They are proud of their ribs but the ribs are not a patch on the Farmyards in Kathikas. The nicest thing is the homemade tomato soup. We have eaten there several times and ususally go for the soup which is home made and uses their own veg. On the menu there is a section on roasts but it turns out that these are only served on certain days though we didnt notice that info on the menu. I've had the lasagne which was ok but didnt really have much flavour, OH had the pork with a garlic sauce he enjoyed it but we both thought the sauce watery. The people running it seem pleasant enough. We go there just when we fancy a something other than a typical Cypriot menu.

The ribs

It was empty when we walked in, ordered 2 pints of Keo, they were flat and nasty, I brought it to the attention of waiter but his Father came and took over, I explained that the beer was foul and he changed it for a small bottle of Keo, I then had to tell him that the other pint was of similar nastiness, he exchanged that for a bottle.Great start.

We both ordered soup to start which was OK, then had the rack of ribs, the wife had lasgne, we also ordered a bottle of Medium sweet white wine.Leo the owner looked at me for a second, nodded then started telling me he had a special wine for me and off he went, a minute later he was heading back to the table uncorking this unlabelled dark wine bottle telling us how it is specially bottled just for him, as he popped the cork and started pouring into my glass he said "you must be the wine conoisseur in the family Sir?" I replied "Well I know this much, that is red wine and I asked for white".You could have heard a pin drop.He took it in his stride admitted it was his fault and disappeared before coming back with white.OH how we laughed...not.The missus was mortified by this time.Anyway, the ribs were superb as was the wifes Lasagne.I declined the offer of desert but wifey opted for the Apple Crumble which resembled sludge more than crumble and was inedible. While we didn't get off to the best of starts the owner took it all with good grace and humour (I think)and the meal on the whole was very good, except for the crumble.
