Somewhere Special!

We returned to Cyprus to celebrate thirty year of marriage and there was only one place we wanted to go as it is somewhere special to us, Tweedies. The bistro uses seasonal fresh produce it doesn't pretend to be anything that it isn't, it's quaint intimate dining served up in a highly professional manner! The food in my experience has always been first class as has the service, it may be very British to some but Craig the chef always puts his own twist on the ingredients he uses with an international flair. We enjoy the traditional fare the island has to offer but we love a great British bistro that is up there with some of the best we have experienced over the years. Keep it up Hillary, Craig and staff and thank you for helping make our day a very special one!

Simply the best

Quite simply the best restaurant in Paphos & has been for years now.

Four of us had yet another great dinner on Monday night. We sat in the garden initially with a bottle of a new Rose wine from their list with some complementary Amuse Bouche, curried scallops.

As always the regularly updated menu had us struggling to make a decision because it all looked fantastic. We started with 3 timbale of kippers with crushed potato & a poached egg and the tempura prawns. These were followed by the spicey lamb shank, the freshly caught tuna, the lambs liver and the chicken breast. Finally, we shared 2 lavender pannacotta's with sautéed strawberries in balsamic. An outstanding meal as always - consistency is the keyword to Craig's cooking.

Hilary is lovely, friendly & helpful as she always is, as is Anna, their assistant.

Go & try the place - you will NOT be disappointed.

Still in a class of its own

Tweedies has been our favourite restaurant in the Paphos area for some years now and last nights meal ensured that it remained so. Forget all those at the top of the TA league table however good some of them are - this is the best one. It's small and intimate without being at all pretentious so booking is essential. Recently celebrating the tenth anniversary of their opening we can only hope that they will continue for many more years. Craig is more than just a good cook he's a professional chef & there's a world of difference. Hilary is a lovely & friendly front of house ably supported, usually, by either Edward or Jill.

The complementary amuse bouche deep fried cheese croquettes and the parsley & garlic loaf were delicious.

Once again a varied menu (it changes very frequently) had us debating what to go for. We decided on the Albacore Tuna (line caught by Craig) lightly seared with a seaweed salad and the homemade Chicken & Leek terrine to start. These were followed by a perfectly cooked, medium rare, Angus Rump steak and Duck with a fresh peach sauce with the usual, perfectly cooked, vegetables and the Tweedies 'signature' potato wedges.

For dessert we settled on the White Chocolate & Ginger Cheesecake and the Afrogato with Amaretto. With a carafe of white wine it was an excellent dinner.

They close for August (too hot) so don't take my word for it, go and try it - it's your last chance to do so until September!

PRIVATE PARTY

Tweedies has always been one of our favourite restaurants and is always a must visit for all our friends and family when they come on holiday. This year we had a large number of family visiting so we decided to host a private party at the Restaurant.

Once again, Tweedies did not disappoint. They offered various menu options, in the end we chose to have a sparkling wine reception in the garden followed by a fixed three course menu with wine and water. Nobody was disappointed the food was fantastic as was the service from Hilary and Edward. Our family really enoyed the evening and said it was one of the highlights of their week.

Definetly the place to host a small party!!

"Charming and Devine"

Tweedies is one of the best restaurants that i have ever had the pleasure of dinning at the food is second to none as is the service. The Sunday lunch is very good value and they stock kolios wines amongst others. If you are going to treat yourselves or plan something special, Tweedies is the place to do it.
