Awful

Friends wanted to eat at the Pelican and against my better judgement I went with the flow. The service in terms of getting you to sit at a table was great but once they got uu in it want o easy to get served and we had a LONG wait when we eventually ordered the bill after trying to get it for agesThere were 4 of us 2 were happy with their Kleftiko 1 had a Cypriot mixed grill which was dry and tough I want happy and ordered a cheese and onion toastie which had nothing in it and was dry and coldCertainly will not be talked into going there again

Worst Meal In Paphos

Went here last week and got all dressed up etc. to go here and have a good night as the place looked very nice, how wrong where we! The service was TERRIBLE! Arogant waiters who want as little to do with you as possible! The guy on the street seems as nice as pie to get you in and then the waiters who you are actually dealing with are awful! We had starters, which in all fairness were nice, however literally as soon as we had finished these are main course was out and the plates hadnt even been taken away yet from the first course! Then to top it all, my girlfriend thought she would go for a nice simple dish- battered cod, only to find a Whitebait in the batter half way through eating it! Which instantly put a dampner on the night! We told the waiters, which to be honest I may as well have spoken to myself! Totally useless. The guy from the street then happened to pass and he was nice and apologetic and made sure this dish was not included in the bill.Once this had all happened no waiter looked near my table for well over 15 minutes and we sat there waiting for plates to be taken away, we couldnt even get them to bring us the bill, I literally had to get up and get one of them to go get it for me! Also, when we where there it was not particularily warm and we where very happy when we where told - 'I get you good table, next to a heater' Ideal I thought! Only to find out he was obviously using this line on everyone as I started off with 2 heaters about 10 feet away from me and by the time i was on my main course there were at opposite ends of the restaurant as they where moved next to every new customer that came in!! One couple complained and got moved inside, but a bit of a con really i thought! All in all, I would definetly NOT recommend! Many other better places to go round the harbour than here! Service is truely terrible.

Nice birthday meal at the Pelican

Jenny's treat for my birthday, so as we had not dined at the Pelican for about three years decided (after checking the menu board prices, which were reasonable) to have our early evening meal there.

Chose a table near the waters edge where there have been recent expansions to the outside areas for the restaurants in this location.
Service prompt and friendly at all times.

Shared the homemade dips & pitta bread, which included potato and crab salads. All vg, we thought that the dips were creamier than average.
Jens main course was Lasagne which was 'tasty but a little dry'
I went for the mixed fish platter, which included whitebait, sardines, squid, octopus and cod fillet. Good size portions, well presented.

Overall an enjoyable experience, pleased with our choice.

Great view - Great price hike

Always used to go to the pelican with my wife when we are in Cyprus. Went in October 2009, food was mediocre and prices had gone up extremeley. Wo`nt be going again. 70 plus euros- you must be joking. Stick to the local tavernas in the hills, and give this overpriced place a miss.
