Disappointing Restaurant

We have eaten at this restaurant 5/6 times over the years. However on our visit last night they need to up their game.Firstly the owner who is a very nice chap has taken his eye off the ball. His waiter from the last time we visited has now left to be replaced with an Indian guy that does not speak hardly any English !!! "better he is in here working than out on the streets" said the owner !!
We waited an hour and a half (90 mins) before our main course arrived !!! The food tasted OK but my wife's starter was tomato soup tasted like chopped tomatoes from a tin with some basil in it !! No bread was offered !!
The Owner is trying to run this restaurant on a shoestring - he now has his kids - a young lad of about 12 years old who was playing with some crutches when not attending to customers !!
I find it unprofessional when a 12 year old wants to take your order or see you to your table !!
If the restaurant is not viable then close it down !!! The Owner already works at the local hotel as a butcher and tries to run the restaurant in the evening.
We had a daily deal voucher but this did not make up for the poor service - people on the next table complained that their lamb was tough !!
The whole experience reminded me of Fawlty Towers !!!

Average but friendly

It was worth a visit but I did find the food very average. The staff are very friendly and attentive. My duck was over cooked. The live music was a very cruise ship. There was a bucket in the room as they had a dripping A/C unit. I would not recommend it personally though I do know people who have enjoyed it.

A Hidden Gem in Paphos - a must for everyone

We visited Jordan's Restaurant last evening due to a Paphos Deal scheme - what a gem of a place hidden from the main tourist thoroughfares. From our very warm welcome from Jordan to our going home - we couldn't fault the restaurant. Drinks were very reasonabley priced and we were given an complimentary appetizer of tuna/capers on toast which was very yummy. I chose Smoked Salmon as a Starter which was delicious and so attractively served, my husband had Warmed Chicken Livers with Spinach and Garlic which was equally delicious. My Husband had the Pork Chop [huge] with Gorganzola Sauce and I had a Duck Breast. I wasn't very keen on the Raspberry Sauce and Jordan offered me a Diane Sauce instead - it all tasted absolutely fabulous with sides of fresh vegetables and home fried big fries. w ended with filter Coffees and Brandies with, again, complimentary accompianments of biscuits, cheese and cucumber.
Jordan was very attentive without being overally so. I spent some time reading all the positive comments on the pillars of the Restaurant of very satisfied customers.

We will definately go again to Jordan's - sooner rather than later - and will take friends and recommend it anytime! Outstanding!

Fabulous atmosphere, fabulous food, fabulous restaurant!

This restaurant truly is a must for anyone visiting Paphos. It may be a little out of your way, depending on where you are situated, but it will be thoroughly worth it. The food was absolutely delicious, Jordan has a real talent for sauces. My pork was cooked extremely well too, and was a chop the size of my arm! The owner was so friendly all of the time, and very genuine. He offered us free dessert and after dinner drinks with no charge, just because he could really. There is an amazing and unique garden outside the rear of the restaurant which must be visited to be believed! I wish Jordan and his family the very best and hope that they get the custom and great reputation that they truly deserve. Outstanding.

Finally, an excellent restaurant in Paphos

We are regular visitors to Paphos and are unashamed food snobs so it has always been a challenge to find something other than the usual average or below par food and service. We were devastated when Il Classico closed as this was the only restaurant in Paphos which offered consistently superb fine dining. Then we read about Jordans in Cyprus Living and tried it last night. Ok, it`s not a replacement for Il Classico`s creativity but in terms of quality, it`s certainly close and with excellent value for money too. To start (€3), I had chicken livers with spinach and balsamic which was lovely - cooked well and very tasty although I ate the spinach separately as it was fresh and therefore needed a little more chewing than the beautifully tender livers. This isn`t a criticism - just me being fussy again and wanting everything to melt in the mouth, just like the livers! For my main course (€14.50), I chose a grilled fillet steak served with potatos, courgettes and aubergines.

Although I am passionate about my food, I am a little odd in so far as I like my steak well done much to the horror of most chefs. About 80% of the steak was well done but there must have been a cold spot under the grill as the remainder was still a little pink but it was taken away and grilled a tad longer without any fuss. My partner had king prawns served with a spicy tomato sauce (€4). There were only two prawns but they were a very good size and the dish was very tasty. This was followed by fettuccini with spinach and chicken (€4.50 and that is not a misprint) which was superb - just the right size portion, not overdone and beautifully creamy. I didn`t have a desert but my partner enjoyed an excellent apple pie (€4) - nice and light using puff pastry with no hint of stodge. To accompany the meal, we had a local Mataro from Tsangarides, our favourite vineyard (€17) - a very good price for a superb wine as we know how much it costs to buy direct from the vineyard.

If your budget doesn`t extend to this, there are other cheaper options although if you enjoy your red, you won`t be disappointed with the Mataro. To round off the meal, we had coffee and a brandy, the latter of which was topped up, on the house. All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal for a total of €50 but as mentioned, there are cheaper options including a set menu with staggering value at €11 per head. The service was excellent, provided by the truly delightful Alaa and Aurel (Jordan) himself kept popping out to make sure everything was ok, without being overbearing (it`s a real family affair with him and his Mum in the kitchen). If you`re familiar with Paphos, it`s where the Koh-i-Nor used to be before it moved to Tombs of the Kings Road and for those of you not so familiar, it`s in the side road just after the Alexander the Great Hotel and just after Les Amis on the left. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, it`s incredibly brave to open a restaurant at this time but we take our hat off to people like Aurel and his team for opening a restaurant with such good quality and value. After all, this really is all it takes for people to go back and as long as they remain consistent, we`ll certainly be going back for more.
