Disappointing

I took my daughter, her husband and 3 children for an evening meal here last night and was distinctly underwhelmed.

They've changed the menu style & shape etc & whilst many of the old meals were still on there it was less than inspiring. I thought the children's meals were poor (the spaghetti was very dry). My Chicken kebab was just about ok though the salad was poor & limp, the Chicken Crepes were nowhere near as good as previously but the Pork a la Creme was still good.

The service was fine but the overall bill was high relative to other local establishments.

My overall view was that standards have slipped a lot here & they need to try a lot harder than they are at the moment.

Relaxing

A beautiful evening so we dropped by The Deck for a quick meal, to sit in the shade and to watch the world go by. We love it here because you can have a full dinner or a light snack at any time of the day or just sit & people watch over a cup of coffee. The service is quick but polite. We just had a gin & tonic, a large bottle of water, a large pork chop with salad and a chicken kebab with salad for 27 euros. Pretty good value really given the outstanding view and the gentle casualness of the place. A leisurely stroll into the harbour and back, before driving home, finished off a lovely evening.

good all rounder

Have been here quite a few times over the last year, great touch for a coffee (eg filter @ €3.60/ea) and a snack, either relaxing or a meeting. Polite and unobtrusive table service whilst the place is interestingly styled, with, for me, a calm atmosphere. Great location on the coastal walkway, with an uninterrupted view from the outside 'Deck' over to the Paphos harbour. It isn't the cheapest place, but location, service and atmosphere push that price up a notch i guess. Haven't tried it for food yet but am confident to try it.

Excellent

We had pre-weedding drinks at The Deck Bar on 16/08/12 for 75 guests, and it was by far the best venue for us as we had kids their too, so it allowed them space to run around and it's set back off the road so it was safe for them. It is outside, by the sea front, with a nice breeze so you can't ask for more.......better than being stuck in a enclosed bar.

Charoulla (the owner) was extremely efficient from when I first contacted her to arrange the reservation of one of the decking areas (the right hand side as you walk down to it from Alexander the Great), and everyone commented how nice the venue was and the beatiful setting with the sun going down.

The waitress service was excellent throughout our evening and nobody had to wait for the drinks to arrive. Sure, there are probably cheaper bars to go to in Paphos, so go to Bar Street if you want that, but location wise, and the amount of people we had, this was perfect for us.

If you want a venue with a bit more class and sophictication, then I would recommend The Deck Bar.

High Prices at Deck Cafe

This morning (26/06/2012) I went to Deck cafe with a friend for a nice morning drink. We sat down, gazed at the nice view and had a fresh apple juice each. Nice atmosphere, view of the sea and the castle. The bill came to find that it cost us €9.20 for the two glasses of juice. That alone has left a very bitter taste in our mouths of the whole experience. Overall, the last year or so the prices of that cafe have gone up in a ridiculous manner. Indeed, the view is nice but not worth the money that it costs to have a drink or eat at that place. There are plenty more cafes that have lower prices. I am never going back again as it is quite pathetic to charge €4.60 for a glass of juice. A friend of mine in the past had a piece of apple pie and it cost him €7. They need to learn to not take advantage of customers! My advice is, stay away.
