SECOND CHANCEI had tried the one over other side of town from us and reviewed, not going back there, now they have opened near Emba so decided to give it a try as we were late back, very impressed, taste and presentation delivery all very good indeed, so credit where it is due, well worth a visit.

Best Chinese and thai take-away I've experienced! The best chinese and thai takeaway food and service I have experienced in Cyprus! Having moved to Paphos in Cyprus, I regularly entertain friends and family who visit. I love City Wok for it's delicious food and friendly service. The first time I ordered from them, I requested a City Wok take-away for delivery for a party of eight. Despite living in Kamares village, the City Wok staff managed to deliver within 40 minutes. The food was hot, authentic and tasty - I highly recommend this take-away! Oh, and I forgot to mention that when I rang to order, they told me that they now do maki rolls, 20 pieces for only 15 euros! Great value for money and again, delicious!

Tasty takeawayWe really fancied a takeaway, so decided to give City Wok a try.Although they offer a delivery service paid a visit to their premises which were clean & tidy, with food cooked on view where you make your order.Went for spring rolls with a sweet and sour sauce, prawn crackers, chicken curry, beef with oyster sauce and mushrooms, chicken fried rice and banana and pineapple tempura fritters.Six items for approx E25, a reasonable price these days.We found the spring rolls crisp & tasty, the curry rather mild for my tastebuds but well prepared in a traditional manner which included chunks of potato. The beef with sauces was fine whilst the rice was not overcooked and absorbed the flavour of the other dishes perfectly.I'm not a big fan of chinese takeaway fritters, quite often they can be stodgy, these with the tempura batter were FAB !So overall no complaints, will try a spicy dish next time. The menu is a little limited, but noticed they do state 'we will be pleased to prepare special dishes when required'

A DisgraceMy experience of the food was dreadfull! The Won Ton soup was a tub of salty, watered down beef stock with 3 prawns floating in it and what looked like soggy pasta. The spare ribs were small chunks of gristle and bone with some fried chilli on top,so bad that when i put the bones and gristle back in the tub the ribs had came out of it was almost as full as when i started! My wife had ordered duck in oyster sauce which was extremely dry and the duck was very thin strips of fatty meat which was very chewy. The plain soft noodles were ok-ish but tasted mainly of grease so we couldnt eat many of them without feeling a bit sick.the best part of the meal was the special fried rice which although very bland was at least edible. Im not sure if we just caught them on a bad night or not,but as it cost us nearly 40 euros and most of it ended up in the bin, then i dont think we will be trying this place again as not only was it the worst chinese meal i have ever had,but possibly the worst meal i have ever had!
