Fabulous - this is a must. Unrivaled eating experience. Great service, great value, great food, great views. easy to find, past coral bay, turn right towards Akamas follow the coast until you see a stone that says 'last castle' turn right here and it's up the hill on your left.

We visited the first week Viklari opened for the season and it was first class as usual.

The food was excellent and the chips were as good as ever. The service was exceptional and we had a wonderful afternoon with friends, well worth the hike up the hill.

After actually finding the place I had thought we might be disappointed but we werent The view is superb, the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly and the food is basic but great Fab chips, proper chips!
Cant wait to go back

We managed to visit The Last Castle twice this holiday. The first time we walked the entire Avakas Gorge starting at Arodes village (near Kathikas), being met by the inlaws two and a half hours later at The Last Castle. After our amazing walk through the gorge we were glad of a few ice cold beers before the inlaws turned up. As usual the meat and "hench" (my sons word!) chips were cooked to perfection and served with a fresh crispy salad. The views and cooling breeze were wonderful, the owners always remember us and spend time with us despite being very busy. We really can't praise the Last Castle enough. But if you have not been here, please remember:
No menu so don't get all stressy and insist on one.
Road is a rough track take it easy and any car will easily get there,
It is very busy at all times, you need to book.
It is not open at night and it closes early November until Easter (ish).

I wanted to visit Viklari last year, after reading all the reviews. Didn`t know the exact location then and found the road leading to Viklari a bit heavy going for the Ford Focus hire car. This year hired a 4x4 and made it, with a little help from contributors from this site with directions.

Once you get to Viklari, the views and setting are beautiful. There`s no menu, you get what they`re cooking, chicken and pork. However the food is cooked and seasoned to perfection. The chips were huge, some of the best I`ve ever tasted. We enjoyed a carafe of village wine with our meal. The bill came to €58 for 4 people. Well worth it!
